[Feb. 23rd, 2006|02:07 pm] |
HOLY CRAP Jimmie's posting... feeling a little disconnected so I thought I would post. I'm so out of the internet loop eh, whatever So I have a band together now. We are a Jigsaw Republic. We play music.
Josh Simon on Keys, Mike Fredrick on guitar, Chris Teal on drums, me on bass.
we played a warm-up gig at a record shop called Unified Groove Merchants on the seventh and we have our first real gig at John's Alley in Moscow in two days.
It's going to ROCK
We're mostly doing covers with a few originals thrown in here and there. Tortoise, Stevie Wonder, MacGyver, The Alman Bros., Mahavishnu Orchestra, etc.
I created the poster. I'll post it when I get home today. It rules. I live on the South Hill and it's really beautiful here, so I go walking a lot. when I go walking i take pictures of the area... and my poster is made of subjects and objects from those pictures.
sorry to cut it short. break's over. more later |

| | none | ] | At the Bank of America Building in Spokane: I just took the test to graduate from classroom training here at the good old B of A. I got a 97.83... only missed one.
(math quiz: how many questions were on the test?)
So it's on to the actual on the job training. It's called AMP. We're on the phones and we have some people wandering around to help us with any questions we have. There's a ton of stuff that we have to know, so it will take a little while before I won't need any help. We have eight different systems that we have to know how to navigate (which is kind of stupid, but I guess that's the way it works).
Did you get my email Pat and Alex? I'll send part two later.
Breaks almost done.
Later! |

I'm a pro crastinator. I need to move back down to the amature level. Anyway... I had my last day of work yesterday. It was really nice to leave. I kynna felt bad for my boss though. He was begging my to stay because once I leave he'll have like two ok employees and the rest are bumbling fools.
livejournal is a huge waste of time. I suppose it has its redeeming factors. Maybe I just don't look at the right journals... mostly it's just people rambling on about nothing (take for example, what you're reading right now). Couldn't we all be doing something better with our time. like PACKING UP TO GO TO IDAHO TOMORROW!!!!!!! Hmmmmm... I think I'm trying to tell myself something. Well, g'night t'y'all. ;):);) |

| | books, keys, computers, printers, and people | ] | Hey, anyone that cares, I just thought I would let you know what's going on. I'm moving back to Idaho very soon. I'm going to be starting a job at bank of America on the 5th of Aug in Spokane. Taryn and I are going to rent a house in Post Falls, but until then we'll be staying at her house in Rathdrum. I don't really have time now to explain it all, gotta go to work soon.
My computer went on the fritz. I think the hard drive is messing up or something. Every time I try to start it it makes these wierd clicky noises and says the NTLDR (network loader?) is missing. Just when I thought all was well with my computer. All the pictures of the Glacier NP trip I just went on with Taryn are on there!! Damnit! I hope I can get them off of there. So that's why I'm not on the computer much. It's back to the library with me (damn).
I hope this comm finds you well. |

| | clickity-click or keyboards | ] | hmmmm... I haven't posted in my journal in the longest time. I guess I've been busy. I don't really have an internet connection either... so that makes it a little hard. I go to the library and get my one hour ration of internet time as much as I can, but that's still not very much. And even when I do get here I have to use the internet for it's PRACTICAL applications... banking, bills, orders, information, etceterahhh, etceterahhhh, etceterahhhhhhh. Well... I'm sure most of you know this, but I've been in Portland Oregon for the past six or so months. It's really great here. I love it. It's a much different atmosphere and mentallity than CDA or Moscow in Idaho. Plus being in a "big" city is a good experience. I see a much greater cross-section of the general population of our world. More ethnicity, more wealth, more poverty, more in-between. And it seems like everyone here is 20-something or 30-something and being very active with their lives. The sense of community is like none other that I've felt before. And people are progressive! it's amazing! it just seems like my values fit in very well here. Well, this has already eaten up too much of my library time, so I'm out. Later all.
PS that previous entry was an entry that I wanted to save, so I just copied it and put it in my journal. I meant to have it so no one else could see it. |

remember this: Book List Well, the poll wasn't very successful with only one person filling it out, but I've taken their suggestion as well as a list of books suggested by my own Alexander teacher & made a list that I hope all of you will find helpful. F.M. Alexander: The Use of Self Barbara Conable: How to Learn the Alexander Tehcnique Barbara Conable: What Every Musician Needs to Know About the Body Barbara Conable: The Structures & Movement of Breathing Michael Gelb: Body Learning Frank Pierce Jones: Body Awareness in Action Glynn MacDonald: Alexander Technique Edward Maisel: The Alexander Technique The following aren't directly AT-related, but are helpful nonetheless: Anthony De Mello: Awareness John Diamond: The Life Energy in Music Eugene Herrigel: Zen in the Art of Archery Stephen Nachmanovich: Free Play: The Power of Improvisation in Life & in the Arts Don Richard Riso: Enneagram Transformations Eckhart Tolle: The Power of Now Lao Tsu: Tao Te Ching (A New Translation by Gia-Fu Feng & Jane English) Comment if you have any to add & I will add them to the list. This post will be in the memories as well. :)
Hope you all find this helpful! :) |

I just got my hair cut recently. I thought now would be a good time to recap some of the ways that I've looked this past year.
the beard. I had that late winter.
I then got rid of the beard.
Here I am with less than I've had for quite a while. I like it. |
